Turquoise -The HOT Color of 2010

Turquoise is expected to be the hot color of 2010.

If color is any guide, we'll be moving into vacation mode in 2010 with the world awash in tropical turquoise. Turquoise was selected as the color of 2010 by Pantone, a company that supplies and tracks color for fashion and home decor, among other industries. Fashion insiders agreed the color is on the rise. Turquoise is universally appealing. It puts everyone in the same state of mind--on vacation. This beautiful shade of crisp blues and greens, is transporting, whether you're actually going to a resort destination or not. In jewelry, we think of the American Southwest or Central or South America. It is both inviting and serene- characteristics associated with blues-and invigorating and liminous, which comes from greens.

Mimosa yellow was the color for 2009, intended to cary a hopeful, optimistic message.The public is shifting gears as the economy shows some improvement: They are ready to fantasize a bit about the beach resort.

Turquoise will quickly find its way into weddings for Spring and Summer 2010, with iits introduction in bridesmaid attire, floral arrangements and reception table decor. Something "blue" has always been a bridal tradition- now with a slightly different shade.

Turquoise is a buy now, wear anywhere color because in cooler months it pairs with black and navy, and in the spring and summer it goes well with white or coral.
