Happy 2010 - Part 3 -

As previously blogged in PART 1 and PART 2 of my road trip, on our final day in Penang, we made our way once more across the Penang Bridge and headed towards Kek Lok Si Temple.

CM brought us to this famous Asam Laksa shop right before the Kek Lok Si Temple. And boy it really is famous as one had to queue for a place to sit! We had to share table with other strangers.

Fret not... the shop is more than prepared to cater for the long queue. For a moment, I thought that their asam laksa pot was magical as it was always full. But of course, nothing is magical in this realistic world. Sure enough, we saw them replenishing the soup by pouring more from another pot awhile later.

Slurpilicious asam laksa! At least, I had my fix for the trip.

One bowl was NOT enough for the guys and they had second helpings!
The annoying thing is... both of them aren't tubby at all! Grrr....

After our meal, we made it to Kek Lok Si Temple. Despite going to Penang on many occasions, I've never been to the temple. Wonder if it's due to my family's supposed Christian background.

It was a well maintained, spacious, HUGE temple.

This is one crazy expensive statue... RM25,000!!!
AND it's only half of my size!

Us, in the vernacular train up... think it costs RM4 per adult for return ticket.
Goddess of Mercy.

Guys will ALWAYS be GUYS. Both of them were fascinated with the bench that had pigs on both ends.

Guess what did one of them do....???? Read it in the next post on this trip.
