Yellow and Black Wedding Centerpiece
What better way to welcome your guests to your Spring or Summer wedding than with this crisp, colorful arrangement? Spilling from an urn, combine lemons, black elderberries (inspiration for the paper on the box below), cattleya orchids, tuberous begonias, gloriosa lilies, and "Golden Celebration" roses. Flank them with clutches of blooms in thematic colors: from left, white acidanthera, buttery cymbidium orchids, and black-centered ornithogalums.
Think a little out of the box! For your table linens, mix various fabric patterns such as floral, stripes and solids, keeping the overall look subtle, so that they do not compete against one another, but instead combine in perfect harmony. The touch of black, scattered throughout the entire table, really makes the yellow tones pop, looking clean and classic, with a contemporary twist.
Wrap a sturdy box with a black and white wrapping paper, and secure the floral arrangement to the box using museum wax that can be later removed without causing damage to the vase.
Guest favors of macaroons in cellophane bags and black place cards with white type welcome guests to the table.
