The Video Process~ What Are You Paying For?

Why are some wedding videographers less expensive than others?

You could hire a college kid, or "Uncle Charlie" to video tape for free. Unfortunately, you will probably not like the result: shaky camera work, bad lighting, and perhaps non-existent sound.
You pay for the expertise, training, creativity and rental of the best equipment when you hire a professional. Basically, you get what you pay for. A cheap video will record what happened at your wedding but not tell the story in a creative way. The attention to detail, the pride of workmanship is what makes a great video.

Items and questions to consider when hiring a wedding videographer:

1. Ask to see parts of an actual wedding the videographer has created.

2. Will THEY be the person shooting and editing the video?

3. How long will it take after the wedding to receive the finished DVD?

4. Does the video tell a story with the sound turned off?

5. How unobtrusive will the videographer be at the wedding?

6. Will the video be a highlight or a full coverage video?

7. How long will the final video be?

With some initial planning and preparation on your part, along with videographer interviews, you can be sure to find the perfect person to capture your wedding day on video. With a wedding day video, the memories are sure to last a lifetime.
