I just got back from gym about half an hour ago. GOSH. I felt really good after today's Dance Revolution class. We really worked it man. I was literally sweating like a pig! Not that I know how pigs look like when they sweat!
and it felt really good to know the steps and be able to execute them without difficulty... or rather ineptly.
Anyways, as part of my improve-my-looks process, I joined True Fitness, Jaya 33 branch for the month of June due to the promotion that they were offering. It was a pretty good deal I would say plus the fact that I am not so busy at work. Hence, I get to leave office early to make it to gym. I am ! proud of myself so far for the efforts that I have made. Now, if only I would see a difference
The offer includes:
- RM99 a month (excluding 5% tax)
- 4 spa back massages (which i have yet to go for!)
- 4 personal training sessions (need to start booking for this)
- 4 yoga sessions (i think)
- unlimited access to all it's 11 branches (if not mistaken)
So far, for this month, I've been for Meei's Dance Revolution on Mondays (my 3rd class with her today), MTV Jam with Lily on Tuesdays (it's interesting but I hardly sweat!) and Funky Line with Bernard just last Thursday (this one, i was SUPER confused. Felt more like I was excercising my eyes then my body!).
Meei can be rather naggy as she keeps pushing us to pump it out, to just groove with the music and not blindly do the steps. Some ppl might not be able to stand her but I am alright with it. I think I enjoy her classes the most cause I seem to be able to grasp the steps and I tend to sweat A LOT after that!! She doesn't look that young wup close. However, she has the energy of an energiser bunny that i mentioned before over here where she just bounces around the room while we struggle to keep pace.
Lily is sweet and patient. Bernard's rather fast including the speed he talks!
Before you sign up with True Fitness, I suggest you Google them, check them out at forums and make sure you read the agreement, stated terms and conditions before signing. My plan was only a one off for a month plan. The normal one requires you to be bonded. Make sure you ask the consultant everything clearly and bear in mind, sometimes what they say may not be true.
This person commented that True Fitness sucks!and another was annoyed by no classes which was reported in Malay Mail.
The consultant that I dealt with kept saying that the offer he explained was only valid for a short time and my friend and I had to make a fast decision on whether we wanted to join. I checked out forums and the deal that he kononnya offered us, was the same from 2007!! Not only that, later on, trying to get me to join, he says they have another offer as I mentioned my budget is only RM100 and below. It's a long story.
Besides that, comparing to other gyms ie Fitness First, you have to bring your own locker padlock. There's no other drink except water. In Fitness First, they have soft drinks and even coffee!
For a conservative and modest person, I was rather dismayed to discover that True Fitness' shower cubicle has no door! Instead, they use some clothe as a curtain door. Gee...
Oh well. Most girls seem to be rather comfortable stripping in the locker room itself. Even walking around in their bras and panties. And 80% of them are HALF my size!! Skinny freaks! *hehe* Makes me look obese in comparison ok!! =p
I have yet to see someone walk around semi nude though! Hopefully my comments about lingerie clad girls walking around the locker room won't encourage peeping toms!!
If only I looked like that at the gym. Period.
